Vice Chancellor's Message

Punjabi University, Patiala is a premier institution of Punjab that was established on 30th, April 1962. While the development and promotion of Punjabi language, literature and culture has been the university’s mandate, another important objective has been to provide quality and affordable education to the students of Punjab, especially of the Malwa region. Punjabi University has made continuous efforts to fulfill these two objectives. Being the largest university in Punjab, it continues to impart quality education in the fields of languages, literature, science, engineering, law, sociology and arts. The university has 70 teaching and research departments, 27 research centers and 274 colleges. In the recent past, university has started six varied multi-disciplinary five-year integrated courses. These courses are unique in themselves and first of their kind in India. Punjabi University is proud of the fact that a large number of its former students have made exceptional achievements in their respective fields. The alumni has been engaged with the university at various levels and maintained a close relationship with the university. The university holds the alumni in the highest regard. I earnestly believe that the alumni will continue to support the cause of Punjabi University, remain committed and closely associated with one of the distinguished institutions of learning in Punjab.
